LightWedge Again Named to Inc. 500 List of Fastest-Growing Companies
LightWedge, with three-year sales growth of 649%, has been recognized for the second time in three
years by Inc. magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies in the United States.
Nantucket,, MA – August 20, 2008 – LightWedge, LLC, (www.lightwedge.com), maker of innovative
LightWedge® and Great Point Light® book lights and magnifiers, has again been named to Inc.
magazine’s prestigious Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. This is the
second time in three years that LightWedge has earned this honor. This year, LightWedge ranked No.
483 on the Inc. 500 list and No. 23 in the Top 100 Consumer Product Companies category. The 2008
Inc. 500 list can be found on www.inc5000.com and in the September issue of Inc. magazine (on
newsstands August 26).
"The entire LightWedge team is honored to be recognized again by Inc. magazine," said LightWedge
founder and CEO Jamey Bennett. "Our continued growth as a company is a direct result of our ability to
bring innovative and relevant products to market that directly meet the needs of our customers.
LightWedge has built its success on being the most flexible vendor to work with by offering our
customers a fully personalized experience."
Since LightWedge LED book lights were introduced in 2002, the company has launched its Great Point
Light brand, which is comprised of stylish and innovative book lights and magnifiers in a bold custom
palette of colors. With the continued success of these two brands and 40 product families currently on
the market, LightWedge, LLC has seen steady growth by bringing major programs into national retailers
including Walmart, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Staples, Office Depot and Amazon.com.
"If you want to find out which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500," said Inc.
Editor Jane Berentson. "These are the most innovative, dynamic, fast-growing companies in the nation -
the ones coming up with solutions to some of our knottiest problems, creating systems that let us conduct
business faster and easier, and manufacturing products we soon discover we can't live without. The Inc.
500 list is Inc. magazine's tribute to American business ingenuity and ambition."
The 2008 Inc. 500/5000 list measures revenue growth from 2004 through 2007 and is the most
comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy - America's independent-minded
entrepreneurs. To qualify, companies must be U.S.-based and privately held, independent - not
subsidiaries or divisions of other companies - as of December 31, 2007, and have had at least $200,000
in revenue in 2004, and $2 million in 2007. Companies such as Zappos, Intuit, GoDaddy, Under
Armour, Jamba Juice, American Apparel, Oracle and hundreds of other powerhouses gained early
exposure as members of the Inc. 500.
